Cindy did her first mosaic in 2014 when she did a piece of a "White peacock" an interpretation of an old Japanese print that she has always admired. This peace was made to fill the blank wall space under large eves of their new home. She had painted and done hand build ceramics , but never did she find her true voice like when she finished her first mosaic. She is an artist who finds her inspiration from the old Roman mosaics, nature like birds and botanical's and monochromatic landscapes & shadows. Her art is a personal journey of creativity and spirituality and is a form of meditation to her. She hopes to evoke an emotion in the viewer by portraying simple images that are familiar and evoke memories rather than suggesting something new. She recognizes her style as naive, deliberate and monochromatic.
